Robert + Caroline’s Oklahoma Hall of Fame Wedding

Robert and Caroline were married at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in September. The most romantic outdoor venue.

The building is the old Mid-Continent Life Insurance building, finished in 1927 by Solomon Layton, who put up half the landmarks in this state. Neo-Classical, columns inside and out, marble floors, staircases that were built for exactly this. It is on the National Register, and it is one of those places where you can stand almost anywhere and find something.

Caroline got ready at The Fordson Hotel downtown Oklahoma City. My favorite part of this was Caroline & Robert’s first look in Mary Eddy’s bar with the epic green and blue wallpaper and art on the walls.

Her dress was from Neiman Marcus, satin, square neck, with a bow at the back that she could not have picked better. And once you notice the bow you start seeing it everywhere. It was on her shoes. It was on top of the cake. Nobody announced it, it was just there, all day.

After their first look we headed to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame where we stayed for the rest of the day. Caroline and Robert wanted a pretty non traditional timeline focused more on the in between moments coming together so nicely for that editorial feel they were wanting. Bridal party photos, family photos, and a few bride and groom portraits in and around the building before ceremony.

Emmaline Rose Floral kept everything green and white and whimsical and classy to fit Robert & Caroline to a T.

The ceremony was in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Garden, columns and ivy on one side, and then a black and white checkered dance floor went down under string lights and that was the rest of the night. Kam’s Kookery served dinner, green napkins on white plates. Amy Cakes made the cake. Souled Out played.

Robert and Caroline are two of the most confident and classy people I have ever met. They knew how to throw a good party and who to have on their side to make that happen. They loved each other fiercely and enjoyed the night to the fullest.

Some of the film shots from this wedding were my favorite. The double exposure Holga 120mm film shot of Caroline holding her purse, the detail shot of florals and napkins on the bar, the bride and groom cutting the cake. So much raw realness and emotion in those shots.

Robert and Caroline, thank you for having me.
